ZAGREB – After filming part of her new movie “Venuto al Mondo” in Sarajevo, Penelope Cruz continues with the production on the Croatian island of Korcula in a shoot surrounded by strong security measures.Penelope Cruz Latest Hairstyles And Fashion
To further protect their privacy, sheets were hung in the narrow Korcula street where the actress and her family are staying.
Previously, according to the network, Cruz and the film crew went Sunday to shoot several scenes for the movie on the diminutive island of Plocica, near Korcula.
Directed by Italy’s Serio Castellitto, the Oscar-winning actress plays the part of Gemme, a widow who travels with her teenage son to Sarajevo so he can see the place where his father died during the 1992-1995 Bosnian conflict.
“Venuto al Mondo” is an adaptation of the like-named novel by Margaret Mazzantini, wife of Castellitto and one of Italy’s most popular writers.
Filming will continue in Orebic on Croatia’s Peljesac Peninsula, according to Croatian media.
Cruz and family are staying near the house where Marco Polo was born.
Local media say that the famous actress has now sampled the area’s tastiest gastronomic treats, such as the olives grown on Korcula and the bread, goat cheese and sheep’s milk cheese from the Croatian islands.
